Our Farms
Our seeds and cuttings are being produced at farms that are located in the best climates. Our most important farms are located in Kenya, Ethiopia, Turkey, Guatemala, and the United States. Once the cuttings are produced, they are shipped off to our young plant production (YPL) site or directly to the growers. Our seeds are processed first at one of our processing facilities and then sent to our YPL site, or directly to our customers.
In the area where we have our production farms, we are committed to the environment and the surrounding communities. Many of our farms are covered by the Global G.A.P. certificate. Below you will find more information about the farms.
Kenya
Kenya Cuttings Ltd was integrated into Syngenta in 2007. It is situated 60 km from Nairobi and lies close to the equator on the rich Kenyan agricultural green belt of coffee, pineapples and tea to the north.
Today, the farm covers nearly 45 hectares (ha) with a greenhouse area of 27 ha, producing both Pelargonium and bedding. The site hosts an extra elite facility for the supply of Pelargonium Nucleus starter material to our other farms and an Accredited Naktuinbouw (ASLN) Pathology lab that also supports our other farms.
Beyond our people, we are committed to making sure that the neighboring community is part of us. We continue to create a lasting impact in their hearts through the provision of medical services (to our staff through an onsite clinic), clean drinking water, educational institutions, infrastructure improvements, environmental conservation efforts, among others.
Every stem tells a story of skill, dedication, and sustainable growing practices of our team’s precise control of growing methods!

The on-site medical clinic offers free medical services to all employees, ensuring accessible healthcare and promoting workplace wellness. The company actively contributes to community development by supporting elementary school construction, improving school infrastructure, and donating educational materials in Shulki and Koka. Ethiopia Cuttings PLC also demonstrates environmental stewardship by implementing an annual program planting trees in surrounding elementary schools, creating a holistic approach to sustainable development across health, education, and environmental sectors.
Turkey
In our farm in Burça we produce high quality seeds. We started the business in Turkey by cooperating with small businesses and in 2009 a modern facility was built over 5 hectares. At this global seed production site over 1,3 billion seeds can be produced of our pansy, viola, cyclamen, ranunculus and primula during the seven month peak season. Besides that, the site also provides training for small local farmers about business, health, safety and protecting the environment.
Guatemala
In Guatemala, we have three farms: Jardines Mil Flores, Florientes, and Kapok Plantas. In the farms, Jardines Mil Flores and Las Florientes produce Begonia, Impatiens walleriana, Petunia, and more. The third farm in Guatemala is Kapok plantas, and this is the production site where cuttings are produced of Lantana, Calibrachoa, Petunia, and Verbena. Every year, around 56 million cuttings and 2.8 billion seeds are produced in Guatemala. To ensure the well-being of employees, the sites provide services like training, dental services, daycare, and more.
