We have a winner! Imara receives a Horticulture Week Business Award

News

The gardener’s favorite is back! Imara won a Horticulture Week Business Award last night in London, where it was awarded for Best Ornamental Plant Introduction – Bedding.

The Horticulture Business Awards honors outstanding achievements of businesses operating in production, garden retail, landscape contracting and more. The goal is to ensure those achievements are recognized by the industry’s customers, clients and retailers.

Really exciting
“This is a fantastic accomplishment for the Syngenta Flowers UK team and the wider Syngenta Flowers”, says Steve Waters, Product Manager at Syngenta Flowers. “The whole team worked really hard in bringing this award winning Introduction to the market, it’s really exciting.”

Horticulture Week writes: “Since the widespread outbreak of downy mildew in 2011, the Impatiens walleriana market drastically declined. After years of development, Syngenta has been able to breed Imara with Downy Mildew resistance, allowing growers to bring the plant back into production and retailers to reinvigorate the market.”

Perfect for shade and sun, rain and shine
Steve: “Imara along with its resistance means ease of use for the grower and consumer alike. Strong and resilient growth allows IMARA to perform perfectly when used in the garden in shade and sun and in both rain and shine.”
