Flower Trials® visitors inspired by “The easy way to colour your life” at Syngenta FloriPro Services®

News

More than 1,900 visitors from 60 countries attended the Syngenta FloriPro Services® FlowerTrials® held from 13 to 16 June 2017 in De Lier, the Netherlands, making this another well attended year. All were impressed by the new highlights such as the large Flower Show Field and the introduction to the new Calliope® campaign.

Those who had made the journey to De Lier were expecting to see a whole range of exceptional presentations – from the latest novelties to innovative brand concepts for the trade – in excellent weather conditions, and they were not disappointed.

The easy way to colour your life!

An especially popular attraction was the Pelargonium Calliope® terrace devoted entirely to the new Calliope® branded assortment – ‘The easy way to colour your life’. The Calliope® terrace outside and the garden centre experience inside not only presented the impressive and unique features of the well-known Calliope®, including the 23 new varieties, but also offered visitors the chance to find out why the new campaign really gives consumers exactly what they want from a good garden plant.

Flower Show Field

A wide selection from the extensive FloriPro Services® (FPS) assortment was presented in the large Flower Show Field outside, where visitors could discover the outstanding garden performance of the product range for themselves.

Themed gardens for annuals, perennials and Mediterranean plants

FPS had created three themed gardens to showcase its garden plants. In the “Garden with Annuals from Seed”, Petunia grandiflora F1 TriTunia, Verbena hybrida Obsession Twisters and Cascades, and Begonia Topspin demonstrated their appeal as impulse buys. In the “Perennials Garden”, the new standard in Lavandula stoechas and the Phlox paniculata Sweet Summer Series were just two examples of FPS’ increasingly popular early-flowering container perennials. The “Mediterranean Garden” showed off the free-flowering, resilient garden plants suitable for sunny locations, among them Mandevilla hybrida Rio®, Sutera (Bacopa) Cabana® Jumbo and Pelargonium peltatum Super Cascade®.

Enthusiastic response

Visitors were inspired by the on-site presentations and welcomed FPS’s commitment in the light of changing market conditions. In particular, they mentioned the structural and long-term development of the trade range, partly in relation to future consumer behaviour.

Sören Affeld, Head of Sales for Germany, Austria and Switzerland at Syngenta FloriPro Services®, stresses: “The new set-up of our FlowerTrials® allows us to exchange ideas directly with our partners around current topics in the sector: from inspiring customers to creating a product range with benefits for the entire value chain. The enthusiastic visitor response underlines our leading position in this field.”

The Flower Show Field at Syngenta FloriPro Services® in De Lier will remain open to registered visitors until calendar week 38.
