Young Plant Production and MPS-ABC
Our Young Plant Production in De Lier, The Netherlands is MPS-ABC certified. MPS (Milieu Programma Sierteelt or ‘Environmental Programme Floriculture’ in English) is an international organisation which develops and manages certificates that allow employees in the horticulture sector to implement sustainability in their companies.
The sustainability standards developed by MPS are seen world-wide as leading in the horticulture sector and are accepted by the international trade.
The MPS-ABC certificate is the environmental certificate and is a unique rating scale which assesses the level of sustainability of operations management within horticultural organisations.
MPS-ABC certification is based on environmental record keeping. Every four weeks, MPS participants record the use of pesticides, fertilisers and energy, and the production of waste (also known as the environmental themes), for their company as a whole.
