Syngenta separates flowers wholesale and distribution activities in Europe

Syngenta has announced its plans to establish two separate organizations for its flowers wholesale and distribution activities in the region Europe, Africa and Middle East (EAME) to best serve each of the distinct customer groups. Under the name of Syngenta Flowers, the wholesale organization will serve young plant producers and distributors. Syngenta Flowers will offer a strong collection of genetic material, including the recently acquired Goldsmith Seeds assortment, as well as professional crop advice. Syngenta Flowers will also develop the ornamental controls business for the region, combining the crop protection and flowers expertise of Syngenta in a unique offer.

Eric Lekkerkerk who will be leading Syngenta Flowers in EAME says: “Syngenta Flowers will stand for innovation, quality and reliability in the supply of seeds and cuttings. We will be gradually opening up our assortment to more distribution partners in the future.”

Under the name of FloriPro Services™, the distribution organization will mainly focus on high-quality young plants, and also sell seeds and un-rooted cuttings. FloriPro Services™ will have its dedicated independent network across Europe consisting of sales and marketing, customer service and technical service. Taner Aykac who will be heading up FloriPro™ Services says: “FloriPro Services™ will bring an expanded line of products and services to growers, in order to increase their efficiency and profitability. Through excellence in services and supply efficiency we aim to become the grower’s supplier of choice.”

The process to separate the wholesale and distribution activities will continue over the following months. Syngenta will present FloriPro Services™ and Syngenta Flowers for the first time at the IPM 2010.
